Helen "Maxine" Harlow, 87, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. She was born on January 26, 1936 in Brownwood, Texas to Homer and Cynobia (Lee) Middleton. She grew up in Brownwood, Texas.

Maxine married Billy Ray Harlow on June 18th, 1955. They then moved to San Angelo, Texas for a few years. In 1968 the family moved to Shawnee, Kansas when Bill joined United Telecom. Maxine thrived in Shawnee where she made many dear life long friends. In 1990 Bill retired and they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. She loved the hills of northwest Arkansas and they both enjoyed many years of retirement. After Bill passed in 2007, Maxine moved to Overland Park, Kansas to live near her daughter and family. In 2015 Maxine moved to The Colony, Texas to be near her son and family. She loved her family dearly. In 2021, Maxine made her final move to Olathe, Kansas where she spent the remaining 18 months of her life surrounded by her daughter, grandson, great granddaughter and great grandson.

Maxine is survived by her children, Kelley (Jeff) Harville of Olathe, Kansas and Allen (Debbie) Harlow of The Colony, Texas. Grandchildren Ryan Foster (Carol) of Adrian, Mo. and Taylor Harlow of Little Elm, Texas. Great grandchildren Brookelinn Foster and Alexx Foster of Adrian, Mo. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Burt and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nelda Vardeman and brother, Dale Middleton.

A graveside service will be held on her birthday January 26, 2024 at Eastlawn Memorial Park Early, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Maxine's memory be made to the Alzheimers Association of America.
