Helen Raby Siddall (Crockett) Hall, born 15, June, 1926 in Wallasey, Cheshire England, passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 6th of January, 2022.
Helen was born to Ernest & Olive Siddall, and was one of 5 children. At the young age of 6, she moved with her family to Leicester, England. Helen had two older brothers and two older sisters, all now deceased.
Helen was an outstanding student, athlete, and quite good at playing cricket. Helen was a scholarship student at Wiggeston school for girls, and captain of both her school field hockey and tennis team.
Helen was an English war bride. In 1944, on the 21 of July she married a handsome American soldier, James Edward Crockett, in the district of Smethvick West Midlands, England.
Helen arrived in the U.S. by way of the Queen Mary on 12, February, 1946 with her final destination being Arkansas. After a year or so, Helen and James made their way west to California, where they raised their family of five girls. Olive, Joan, Leona, Sonya,(who preceded her in death) and Helen Jo.
Helen had 7 grandchildren, Ty, Tommy, Rob, David, Erin, Lisa, and Johnny, and 8 great grandchildren; Isbell Kern, age 12, Samantha Russo, age 13, David Russo, age 11, Evelyn Russo, age 5, and Mia Ann Russo, age 3, Heidi Hotchkiss, age 4, Benjamin Hotchkiss, age 7, and Avery Hotchkiss, age 19.
Helen was a proud American and she received her citizenship papers at age 23, on 14, October 1948.
Around 2010, Helen moved in with her daughter Joan and husband, Bob, in Kansas City where she stayed until October 2020 when she moved to assisted living at the Gardens at Barry Road. Helens last year was a happy one, where she made a lot new friends and experienced much joy. For that we are all grateful.
