Hazel Goodman

Hazel M. Goodman, 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, at Evergreen Community Nursing Home, Olathe, KS. Hazel was born and raised in Garden City, KS to Charles and Josephine (Behr) Morris, the youngest of five children. She joined her sisters in attending God's Bible School in Cincinnati OH, where she received her diploma. It was in Cincinnati that she met and married her husband of 58 years, E. Lawrence Goodman. They resided in Garden City, KS, Kankakee, IL, Overland Park, KS, Lexington, KY and finally settled in Hardinsburg KY. Upon the death of her husband in 2000, she moved to Olathe Kansas to be close to her daughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Raymond Morris, Mertie Sauer, Thelma Religo and Pauline Goodman. She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Edmond) Nash and Jo (James) Edlin; five grandchildren, Erin (Jamie) Casler, Edie (Corey) MacPherson, Julie (Eric) Bryant, Janelle (Matt) MacKay, and Jon (Mindy) Edlin; and seven great-grandchildren, Nash and Anna Casler, Katherine and Logan MacPherson, Jacob and Daniel Bryant, and Addison MacKay.

Hazel had a fulfilling career as real estate agent in Lexington KY. After retirement she and Lawrence became world travelers, visiting many places with friends and family. During their travels they often visited with missionaries, providing encouragement and support. They placed a high value on education, helping many young people through college. She loved her extended family of many nieces and nephews, praying for them regularly.

Her family is grateful for the excellent and tender care she received in her final days.
