Harold Wray Scott, 80, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at a nursing center in Olathe, KS after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Harold was born Feb. 26, 1938 in Oceola, MO, the son of Willie C. Scott and Martha (Anglin) Scott Lowery. 61 years ago he married Joyce Faye Slack and for the last 48 years they called Olathe, KS their home where for 33 years they owned and operated Scott Electric. Besides his passion for his work, he loved fishing, NASCAR, College Basketball, the NFL, and baseball from youth to the pros.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Lester Lowery, three brothers; Vernon Scott, William Clarence Scott, and Denver Don Scott and three sisters; Peggy Scott, Ruby Christine Jackson, and Fern Cochran.
Harold is survived by wife, Joyce Scott, and daughters: Cheryl Coons (Curt) of Overland Park, KS and Karen (Greg) Gutknecht of Spring Hill, KS, three grandchildren: Kyle Pettyjohn (Lauren) of Phoenix, AZ, Kendra Pettyjohn of Olathe, KS, and Trevor Gutknecht of Spring Hill, KS and 1 great-grandchild, Kylah Pettyjohn of Phoenix, AZ. Five brothers: Virgil Scott of Marshall, MO, Bob Scott of Warsaw, MO, Howard Scott (twin) of Des Moines, IA, Jack Scott of Norman, OK, and Charles Scott of Paris Landing, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Olathe, KS, with memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm.
