Harold Emmart

HAROLD EUGENE EMMART
Age 86, passed away February 11, 2009 in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14 at 10:30am at Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S. Ridgeview Rd., Olathe, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. Interment, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Olathe Christian Church or to Kansas City Hospice House.
Harold was born April 6, 1922 in Paola, KS to James Edward Emmart and Sadie Marie (Geuy) Emmart. He graduated from Paola High School in 1941, and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. Upon returning from the service, he began his career with Emmart Battery and Electric Company, retiring in 1987.
He married Rose Mary Kurtz in 1976, and they made their home in Olathe. He was an avid car enthusiast, and enjoyed time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Emmart, his step-children Chuck (Terri) Kurtz, Robert (Gudrun) Kurtz, and Mark (Mary) Kurtz, his sister Edith (Bob) Nichols, nephew John Robert (Ann) Nichols, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons Edward Gene Emmart and Ronald Dean Emmart.
