Gwen Alexander, 95, was born in 1918 in Toronto, Canada to Evelyn and Robert Rutledge. Gwen lived in Toronto until she married Douglas R. Alexander, June 4, 1942 who was serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After Doug's return from WWII the couple moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Doug worked for Trans World Airlines (TWA). Gwen lived as a house wife and mother, raising her children; Douglas (Spouse; Nancy), Donald (spouse; Vicki), David (engaged to Rosemarie), & Debbie (spouse; Clarence Classen). She taught Bible Studies, prayed for many and visited the sick. She was a member of the following churches in the Kansas City Area; First Baptist of Overland Park, Overland Park Church of the Nazarene, College Church of the Nazarene, Prairie Baptist Church and most recently a member of Overland Park Baptist Temple. She precedes her husband, Douglas R. Alexander in death; they were married for nearly seventy two years, (June 4, 1942). She also leaves behind her children and surviving siblings, John Rutledge, Jean Budgell, and Florence Matthews. The true impact of this lady shall be revealed in Heaven – She touched many lives.
