Gregory William Adent

Gregory William Adent, 53, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away suddenly on November 26, 2024 in Overland Park, Kansas.

Greg was born on November 29, 1970 to William and Barbara (Morrison) Adent in Schaumburg, IL. 

On October 4th, 1997, he married Amy (Koziol) Adent. Greg was an amazing father to his two beautiful children Rachel Parker & Brett Gregory, a loving brother to Christine & John Ulibarri and Deborah & Darrel Packard, a fond son-in-law to David and Diane Koziol, a special brother-in-law & a fun uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Greg worked in the mortgage/banking business for the past 20 years.

Greg was an avid Chicago sports fan. From a young age he had a deep passion for “all things” sports. His love for the game of baseball was especially profound, that led him to play collegiately at Northeastern Illinois University. Once he moved to Kansas City in 2001, Greg enjoyed following the Kansas City Royals and of course the Kansas City Chiefs. Greg also loved to play golf, in particular playing at Ironhorse Golf Club.

His family will remember him as a fun-loving father, that he cared for deeply. Greg, loved getting together with friends, whether it was a fantasy football draft, a poker game, a cornhole match or a “friendly” game of washers, his competitive spirit will never be forgotten. 

Greg's kind heart, his loyalty, and his sense of humor, truly made him unforgettable. He was a man of few words, but those words he said sure made us laugh.

Greg will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the memories he made, the joy he shared with those around him, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of everyone he touched. While his presence may no longer be with us, the spirit of Greg will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Greg was preceded in death by his father William Adent, grandparents Eugene & Arlene Morrison and Walter & Helen Adent.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at Ironhorse Golf Club 15400 Mission Road Leawood, KS from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
