Gonul Wines, 74, of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1949 in Istanbul, Turkey to Saban Ersoy and Cemile Baltacioglu.
Gonul was affectionately nicknamed Yildiz, which means star in Turkish. Yildiz married the love of her life, John, at the young age of 19 while he was stationed at a nearby Air Force base. Together, they raised four children in several places around the world, including Turkey, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Alaska, and Kansas.

Yildiz had a huge heart and she shared it with so many people. She was a friend to all, and often the life of the party. Indeed, she was a bright star.
