Gloria Mae Speck, formerly of Falls City, Nebraska and Mission, Texas passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012. Gloria was born in Verdon, Nebraska on November 14, 1938. After her high school graduation, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri to attend business college. After graduation from college, she lived in Kansas City, Missouri and worked for Twentieth Century Fox Studio. On September 30, 1961, she married Jacob Edward Speck, Jr. and they had one son, Bradley Edward Speck. The couple moved to Falls City, Nebraska and resided there until their retirement. While living in Falls City, Gloria worked as the school secretary at North Elementary School from the late 60s until her retirement in the mid 90s. TOn retirement, the couple moved to Mission, Texas where they enjoyed the local culture and trips to Mexico. Gloria had recently moved to Olathe, Kansas to be near her son and his family after her husband's death from Alzheimer's. Her husband of 48 years, Jacob Edward Speck, Jr., her parents, William Everett Foster and Ellen May Foster, precede her in death. She is survived by her son, Bradley Edward Speck, a daughter-in-law, Deidre Ellen Speck, two granddaughters, Breanna Nicole Speck and Michaela Richelle Speck, all of Olathe, Kansas, and a brother, Larry Charles Foster, of Mission, Texas, and three nephews, Clayton Monroe (Monty) Foster, of Grand Island, Nebraska, Tony Charles Foster, of Olathe, Kansas, and Wesley Todd Foster.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Gloria and Jacob Speck.
