Glenn Alden Hatter, Jr., 68, of Olathe, KS, passed away April 13, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Glenn was born on October 1, 1956 in Kirksville, MO, the son of Glenn Alden Hatter, Sr. and Lois May Hatter (Butler).
After graduating from U.S. Grant High School in 1974, Glenn attended East Central University where he completed a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Human Resources Counseling. He served in the Army National Guard until he was honorably discharged due to medical issues and was a long-time member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ada.
Glenn married Letty Ng Chai Yu on May 1, 1984 in Ada, OK and proceeded to share a life with her for almost 41 years, until the day of his death. They visited 49 states only missing Alaska, had two daughters together, annually drove to see the leaves changing in the fall, and loved spending time with family and many friends who they counted as family.
Glenn spent most of his career working in various positions for the State of Oklahoma with a focus on assisting those with disabilities find the resources/job opportunities they needed.
As much as he enjoyed helping others through his work, Glenn thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. He checked off some bucket list vacation goals with Letty, participated in frequent games of Farkle, solved the world's problems over a cup of coffee at Hardee's, dabbled in photography, tinkered with carpentry, and, most importantly, devoted more time to his growth as a Christian while being a long-time member of the Church of Christ.
Glenn is survived by his wife Letty Hatter; his son from a previous marriage Wayne; daughters Krista Weaver (sp. Micah), Katie Killingsworth (sp. David); grandchildren Rebecca, Thomas, Tinley, Reid, Claire, Brooxie, Tai; sisters-in-law Patsy Hatter, Se Se Yu (sp. Jing Ye Lee), Lok Lok Kwan (sp. Jen); brothers-in-law Loye Gene Cox, Jong Wei Yu, Roger Darr; great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Glenn is preceded in death by his father Glenn Hatter, Sr.; his mother Lois Hatter; father-in-law Shang Tai Yu; mother-in-law Pei Wa Wong; his brother Gayle Hatter; his sisters Lorene Cox, Glenna Darr; sister-in-law Sa Sa Yu; brother-in-law John Doo, and other beloved family members.
Visitation: Friday, April 18th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, KS
Funeral: Saturday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, KS
Burial: Immediately following funeral service at Olathe Memorial Cemetery in Olathe, KS
