GLENN EDWIN EWING

Age 86, passed away June 15, 2005 at his home in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 19, from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 15550 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 20, at 1:00 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 621 S. Lee, Olathe, KS. Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials to Heritage Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 15550 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS 66062 or to the American Cancer Society, 6700 Antioch Rd., Ste. 100, Merriam, KS 66204.
Glenn was born January 28, 1919 in Olathe, KS to Edith and Clyde Ewing. He graduated from St. John Memorial High School in 1937, then served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1942 through 1945. He married Margaret Burns on January 8, 1943, and following his discharge from the service, he was a dairy farmer in the Olathe area until his retirement. Glenn and Margaret were long-time members of the First Presbyterian Church and founding members of Heritage Presbyterian Church. He was a Past-President and member of the Olathe Rotary, Farm Bureau, the Johnson Co. Park and Recreation Board, and was involved in numerous community activities.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret, his son Tom and wife Gracie of Spring Hill, his daughters Sarah Richardson and husband Ian of Upland, CA, and Martha Granger and husband Mike of Topeka, KS, eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Frances Waldron, and brother Tom Ewing and his wife Glena. He was preceded in death by his sister Mildred Barnett. Arrangements, Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe.
