Glen Larry Mathews

Glen Larry Mathews, 90, of Olathe went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on October 4, 1933 to Eugene and Nellie (Schoeppe) Mathews in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Glen served over 20 years in various branches of the United States Military.

Glen came to know the Lord at 40 years of age during a mission conference at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana. He faithfully served the Lord the rest of his life in several different churches.

In November of 2000, he married Beverly Graham. They served together at Southland Christian Camp in Ringgold, Louisiana for several years after they were married. They moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2014 to be close to family. They have been faithful, active members of Olathe View Baptist Church.

Glen is survived by his loving wife Beverly, daughter Gwen (Rusty) Hammett, grandchildren Joseph (Elizabeth) Hammett, Jonas (Jennifer) Hammett, and Jessica (Fede)Villasenor, also five great grandchildren, brother Rex (Shirley) Mathews, sisters Mary Allbritton, Janice (Eddie) Waters, and Linda (Joe) Dix and many nieces and nephews.

Included in his family are Beverly's children, Robert (Connie) Graham, Cynthia (Gary) Wood, Lynda (Chuck) Lang and William (Cheryl) Graham, and her twenty-five grandchildren and forty-three great grandchildren who lovingly called him "Papa Glen".

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Nellie and brother Neil Mathews.

Pastor Bob Graham will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, gifts can be given to Olathe View Baptist Church, specified for, "Missions Outreach"
