Gladys Louise Morton, age 89, a long time resident of Torrington, WY was welcomed into the Lord's loving arms on Saturday the 14th of November.
She was born February 8, 1926 in Sioux City, IA and grew up in Denison, IA. Gladys graduated from Business School in Omaha, NE and was then sent to Medicine Bow, WY to help in the war effort as a Union Pacific Telegrapher/Bookkeeper. She was transferred to Torrington, WY where she met her husband Dorlyne(Mort) and they were married in 1945. This last August of 2015 they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Gladys and Dorlyne owned and operated a travel agency in Torrington, WY which gave them the opportunity to travel the world.
She was a life force with her smiles, singing, hugs and kisses, and lovingly engaged with her family and friends, but above all she loved the Lord. She has always been an active member of her church.
She and Dorlyn moved to Olathe, KS in 2009 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her husband Dorlyne, four children: son Brad (Jan) from Mission Viejo, CA, daughter Deborah (David) from Wichita, KS, daughter Brenda (David) from Olathe, KS, and son Doug (Karna) from Cody, WY., one sister Ina from Denison, IA, 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, November 19th, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Olathe, KS at 11:00 am with a viewing an hour prior to service time.
Graveside service and burial will be in Torrington, WY, Valley View Cemetary at 10:00am on Saturday, November 21st.
