Gerald M. Weidler, 30, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. He was born on March 25, 1994 in Kansas City, Missouri to Timothy and Lisa (Johnson) Weidler.
Gerald grew up in Kansas City, MO, a few years in West Chicago, IL and in Olathe, KS. He graduated from Olathe East High School in 2012. He resided in Atchison, KS since September 2020. He thoroughly enjoyed living in Atchison and the friendships he made there. He earned a Certificate of Welding Technology from Highland Community College in Atchison and recently started working at Atchison Tubular Manufacturing Company. Gerald was a kind soul who loved nature, listening to podcasts and gaming, especially Magic: The Gathering. He loved his three-legged rescue cat, Payne. He was very excited to have begun his welding career.
Gerald is survived by his father, Timothy Weidler, step-mother Jacqueline Hicks, sister Anna Weidler and Brother-in-Law Aaron Davis, step-sister Claire Barton, niece Charlotte Davis, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Weidler.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gerald will be held on Saturday June 29th at 2:00pm at St. Joseph's Church, 705 Spring Garden St., Atchison, KS 66002. A game of Magic: The Gathering will be played in his honor. Gamers are encouraged to bring their decks and join in.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Gerald's memory be made in honor of Payne to your local humane society.
