Gerald "Jerry" Oscar Anderson, 82, passed away on April 18, 2019 at home in Olathe, KS surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 17, 1936 to Harry and Mae (Tonneson) Anderson at Minneapolis, MN.
Gerald served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Actuary on his last assignment for the Department of Agriculture and served for 30 years.
On October 27, 1956, he married Delores Ann Anderson (Letcher) at Vernon Center, Minnesota. They lived in various cities in MN.
After retirement, Jerry and Delores resided in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas before eventually moving to Olathe in 2018.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and enjoyed fishing, boating and sports.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Delores, children Michael (Cathy), Susan (Jeff) Groshong, grandchildren Scott, Hannah (Harley Clark), Derek (Jordan), and Kyle (Sam), Sara (Levi), Shawn, and Alicia (Dusty). Surviving great-grandchildren are Emmett, Aubree, Harper, Shane, Hadley, Elijah, Allison, and Ariana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 22 at 1:00pm, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Olathe, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the Church or to the American Lung Association.
