GEORGIA ANN TAYLOR STANKO
Born September 1, 1952 in Kansas City, MO, passed away August 11, 2005 in Olathe, KS after a courageous 18-year battle with scleroderma. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 14 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS, followed by funeral services on Monday, August 15, 2005 at 1:00p.m. at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira, Overland Park, KS. Interment, Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be given to the Scleroderma Foundation, 12 Kent Way, Ste. 101, Byfield, MA 01922.
Georgia was a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School in 1970, and received her BA from Kansas State University. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family and friends. In particular, she loved being "Nana" to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gary of the home in Olathe, KS, her son Bryan (Shannon) Thomas of Denver, CO, daughters Lindy (Devon) Hayes of Prairie Village, KS, and Molly Stanko also of the family home. Also survived by her parents, Everett and Harriett Taylor of Lenexa, KS, grandchildren Lane and Alex Hayes, her brothers Rex (Mary) Taylor and Tom (Betsy) Taylor, both of Overland Park, KS, several nieces and nephews, including her special nephew, Adam Taylor.
She will be remembered for her courage, optimism, loving spirit and dedication to her family.
