George Micheel

George H. Micheel, 99 of Olathe, Kan. Passed away on Nov. 1, 2010. He was born to August and Lizzie (Voss) Micheel on July 29, 1911 in Blair, Neb. George married Esther Hoime on Aug. 21, 1938 in South Bend, Ind. She passed away in 2007. Surviving are sons Gregory A. (Sally) Micheel of Indianapolis, Ind., Gary L. (Jan) Micheel of Olathe, Kan and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and four sisters. George was a graduate of South Dakota State University and received a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and was employed by American Electric Power Company for 38 years then retired in 1976. He was an Usher for the 1st United Methodist Church in Elkhart and a Boy Scout Leader.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 7-8 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where services will be at 11 a.m. Rev. Don Reed of First United Methodist Church, Elkhart will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorials may be given to the church or charity of choice.
