George Collins
George Enoch Collins, 85, died March 18, 2009, at Larned Healthcare Center in Larned, KS. He was born April 5, 1923, in Decatur, IL the 6th child of Elmer M. and Nora Robbins Collins ten children.
He belonged to the First Baptist Church, Olathe and was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a Life member of the VFW and the American Legion.
George was very active in politics and community affairs. He wrote a weekly column for the Johnson County Gazette while he lived in Olathe and has written countless editorials.
He is survived by 6 sons and 4 daughters, 2 sisters, and a small army of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 28 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. 14275 Blackbob Rd. Olathe, KS 66062. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Olathe Hospice.
