George Boyd

George F. Boyd, 90, of Stanley, KS passed away Friday Feb. 11, 2011 at home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice or the Kidney Foundation.
George was born October 10, 1920, in Peculiar, MO to Samuel and Geneva Boyd. He moved to the Stanley area in 1933. He married Barbara J. Boyd (Nellor) in 1945. He was co-owner of Boyd Bros. Inc for over 30 years. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Stanley Fire Dept. Inc. and was Vice Chairman for the Rural Johnson County Fire District No. 2. He was the Secretary and Sexton of Pleasant Valley Cemetery for 50 years. He enjoyed being outside in his garden, traveling, and being around his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Barbara, his parents, a daughter Mary Jane, a son Ronald Samuel and his brothers Bill and John Boyd.
He is survived by his daughter Sharon Williams, son Todd Boyd (June), and daughter Vicki Honack (Steve). He is also survived by his long time companion Betty Myers, 6 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
