George R. Black, 78, of Olathe, passed away on September 20, 2019 at his home after a long struggle with dementia.
He was born on November 25, 1940 to Gail Black and Genevieve (Batchler) Black in Kansas City, KS. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years.
In 1961, he married Janet Ross, and they were married until she preceded him in death in 2010.
George was employed as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA for 39 years.
He enjoyed golfing and many card games, including cribbage and pinochle.
Surviving are his children, Richard (Joyce) Black, Kansas City, Suzette (Scott) Zolotor, Olathe, Shawn (Brandy) Black, Belton, Rusty (Katie) Black , Prairie Village, eleven grandchildren; Roqhelle, Keith, Jeanette, Ross, Atticus, Mae, Jordan, Gracie, Amelia, Ashley and Corbin, 6 great-grandchildren, his sister, Judy Spain, and extended family Sarah Perlingiero, Wade Ross and Bob Ross.
