She continued to sew beautiful garments and quilts throughout her life for her seven children who survive her: Phillip & wife Beverly Stambaugh, Marilyn & husband Ernie Peterson, Patricia & husband John Ward, Paula McLaughlin, Rebecca & husband Stan Lloyd, Anita & husband Bud Wheeler and Jim & wife Dara Stambaugh. In addition to her seven children her legacy lives on through her 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sisters, Marguerite Klein and Rachel Hugunin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie (Bill) E. Stambaugh, an infant son, and sisters Odelia Fanning and Mary Schlagel.
She was a long time member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church family in Olathe.
Jennie, as she was known, loved to dance and was attracted to Bill because "he was so handsome and he was such a good dancer". They worked together as co-owners of Bill's Market in west Olathe from 1955 until 1976 where her freshly made potato salad, German sausages, and mince meat were customers' favorites.
An avid gardener, she surrounded her home with plants and flowers of all kinds. Her beauty and spirit live on through the love, talents and gifts she bestowed upon her family.
Thanks to the friends and family who have been so thoughtful and to the staff at Olathe Medical Center and Villa St. Francis for their loving care over the past few weeks
