GENEVIEVE M. PONTE

Born April 26, 1927, passed away January 12, 2006 at home in Overland Park, KS. Visitation will held on Sunday, January 15, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Shawnee Mission Parkway and Nall, Mission, KS, followed by a memorial service on Monday, January 16 at 3:00 p.m., also at the church. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church, L.W.M. L., 5601 W. 62nd Street, Mission, KS 66202.
Genevieve was born in St. Louis, MO, where she met and married her husband of 57 years, Eugene Ponte. They moved their family to Prairie Village, KS in 1956 and joined Trinity Lutheran Church where she has been an active member of Naomi Circle. She was currently Second Vice- President of Treesmill Homes Association in Overland Park.
Gen was an avid amateur interior decorator, with a heart for helping friends and family near and far. She will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, of their home, her daughter Janice McCloud and husband, Dale, her grandchildren Samantha and Michael Ponte and their mother, Andrea Knickerbocker. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael, in 2002.
