Genevieve was born on February 19, 1911 in Kouts, Indiana. She was the 6th of 7 children, and attended Kouts High School and the South Bend College of Commerce.
Genevieve was married to Theodore Koeppen on Sept 20, 1937 and relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where they raised two daughters, Carol and Jean.
Genevieve worked for the Service Bureau, as a key punch operator, during the infancy of computers, helping with IBM installations. Later she worked for Falstaff Brewing and the University of Notre Dame.
In 1966, the couple moved back to Indiana where they planned their retirement. Ted passed away suddenly in 1967 and Genevieve lived with her 3 older sisters in South Bend, Ind. until 1987 when she moved to Overland Park, Kansas.
She is survived by daughters, Carol and husband Marty Fraser of Atlanta, GA and Jean and husband Frank Schlenk of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jean Louise and Walther Pfeifer, of Needham, MA, Julie and Mark Bogner of Wichita, KS, Mike and Brenda Schlenk of Olathe, KS and Brian and Kristin Schlenk of Lee's Summit, MO. great-grandchildren Nicholas Pfeifer, Molly, Ben and Rose Bogner, Noelle and Kara Schlenk, Iyla Schlenk.
Her goal in life was to help others and her frequent prayers were welcomed and appreciated by all. Her strong faith and dynamic personality will be cherished and missed.
