June 14, 1941 — November 11, 2014

Gene N. Brackin, of Olathe Kansas passed away shortly after 6 PM on November 11, 2014 due to complications from lung cancer, at the age of 73. Mr. Brackin is survived by his wife of 51 years Patricia J. Brackin, his siblings Linda Frost and Jerry Brackin and his sons, their spouses and their children: Jon and LeAnn, Jeff and Lourie, and Mark and Annette Brackin. Gene and Pat are also blessed with 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Nolan, Jack, Kelly, Shannon and Patrick Brackin.

Pastor Joel Schultz will preside over the ceremony at 3PM on Sunday November 16 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church 13145 Blackbob Rd Olathe, KS 66062. Visitation will be held at the church from 2pm to 3pm on Sunday.

Gene was the fourth of five children born to Luella and Malcom Brackin.

Pall Bearers: Jim Hotchkiss, Palmer Thompson, John Oliver, Dick Korek, Bud Young, and Parke Woodard.

Gene and Pat met at Everett High School in Lansing Michigan in 1958. Gene attended Michigan State University where he earned a degree in business administration. Gene worked as a Personnel Manager with Ralston Purina in Battle Creek Michigan, an Industrial Relations Manager for Rockwell International in Atlanta GA, Newark OH and Chicago IL. He retired as Vice President of Human Resources at Atchison Castings in Atchison KS.

The family requests memorial contributions be given to either the Olathe Hospital Hospice System or to the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church Stained Glass Fund.
