GARY STEVEN DRUMMOND
Age 61, went home to the Lord on September 11, 2007 in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13 from 6:00-7:30p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS. The family suggests memorials to TLC for Children and Families, 480 S. Rogers Rd., Olathe, KS 66062, your local Boy Scouts Troop, or to the American Legion.
Gary was born June 13, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Robert L and Norma J. Drummond. Following high school, he went on to serve our country in the U.S. Marine Corps for a period of six years. He achieved the rank of Staff Sgt.prior to his discharge.
He retired from Unisys after a long career in the computer technology field.
Gary enjoyed participating in Scouting activities with his sons, and together with his family, were instrumental in the founding of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. In his leisure, Gary enjoyed golfing, ham radio, reading and movies.
Surviving are his sons, Chad and Todd Drummond, his brothers Larry, Bob and Dennis Drummond, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
