Garrett Cole Haynes

Garrett Cole Haynes, 27, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. He was born on July 17, 1997 in Merriam, Kansas to Scott and Terri Haynes.

Garrett came into our world as a bright beacon of light. He brought us joy, laughter, and love. Garrett was one of the most kind and thoughtful people we knew. He was creative and loved playing and designing video games, and building websites. Garrett loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar.

Garrett is survived by his parents Scott and Terri Haynes, brother Michael, brother-in-law Levi, grandmother Janice Moody, aunts and uncles: Jennifer Moody, Jeff Moody, Mark and Gwen Haynes, Eric and Jeannie Haynes, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roe Moody, Betty Haynes, and Bill Haynes.

Garrett was loved by so many, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe.

A celebration of life will be held at Austin's Bar and Grill from 3:30-6pm, 2103 E 151st St #2969, Olathe, KS 66062. There will be a free appetizer buffet with alcoholic drinks available for purchase.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Garrett’s memory be made to the Half a Sorrow Foundation. The Half a Sorrow Foundation helps workplaces, schools, organizations, and communities deal with suicide risk, cope with loss, and foster connections through education and support.
