Galen Edward Teske, 85, Gardner, Kansas, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Wellsville Retirement Center.
Galen was born October 29, 1926 in Wheaton, Kansas, the son of Edward Teske and Elsa Brunkow Teske. He graduated from Onaga High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He farmed until 1956 and was an over-the-road truck driver until his retirement in 1987. He married Genial Figge on April 19, 1953, and she preceded him in death on September 20, 1986.
Galen is survived by his two daughters; Marcelyn (Philip) Harness of Olathe, KS and Kimberly (Ron) Pfister of Richmond, KS; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Persell and Rosella Peter, and one brother, Alvin Teske. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virgie Falk and Doris Hammel; two brothers, Floyd Teske and Merle Teske; and a son, Craig Teske.
