Fred E. Smith, 82, Liberty, MO, formerly of Olathe, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Liberty Regional Hospital.
Fred was born and raised in Rosedale, KS. He was married to his loving wife Eva for 57 years and made their home in Olathe, KS.
Fred was employed by the Johnson County Sheriff's Department for 30 years, was the Chief of Police at Lake Quivera for 10 years and retired from the Gardner correctional Center in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Hattie Smith, his daughter Sandra K. Swope, sisters Irene Berry and May Armstrong.
He leaves his wife Eva Smith, his sister Bala Stackhouse of Noridge, NY.; his two daughters Joy McBee and Diana McKinney both of Braymer, MO, 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
