Franklin Thomas “Frank” Hubbard (81), of Olathe, Kansas was welcomed into his heavenly home on June 25, 2024. Frank was born in Anniston, Alabama on October 30, 1942, to Helen (Sorrell) and Franklin Vernon Hubbard.
Frank served in the US Army for over 2 years and became a sharpshooter. In his early years he owned his own appliance store & attached deli in Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Frank worked for Otasco Autoparts & Appliances for 30 years, then finally retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in 2007 with over 10 years of service. In 1992 he married Cathy (Jacobs) Hubbard and moved to the Kansas City area.
Frank was a devout Christian and openly shared his faith with anyone that would listen. In fact, in his last days Frank was still leading people to the Lord. Frank was a member of Abundant Life Assemblies of God, Overland Park, Kansas. Frank enjoyed time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and known to some as “Papa Bandit”. He loved watching Gunsmoke, Matt Dillon, and listening to Bill Gaither.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Cathy (Jacobs) Hubbard, John Hubbard (Misty), Leisa Jackson (Perry), Thomas (Dayane), stepchildren John Shelton, Shannon Hosman (Lee), Gail Sargent (Thel), 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, siblings Brenda Carey (Jerry) & Terry Williams.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Helen (Sorrell) and Franklin Vernon Hubbard and grandson Dylan Flagg.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, at Abundant Life Church. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
