Frank Martinez

Frank Martinez was born September 19th, 1941 in Ottawa, Ks to Andres and Ramona Martinez. He was brother to Mary, Ruth, Andres, Susie and John. Frank married Martha Verdin June 1st, 1963 and had 5 children: Maria, Melissa, Sonja, Kristina and Chip. Frank and Martha were married for 53 years. He was a Vietnam War veteran and graduated from Kansas University in 1970. He retired in 2004 as the Regional Director for Administration at the Department of Housing and Urban Development in Kansas City, Kansas.

Frank coached Little League boys and girls for 41 years in various sports and also served on the Spring Hill School board for 8 years. Frank's interests included community activities, daily physical exercise at the YMCA, flower and vegetable gardening, reading, praying at least once a day for those whom he had encountered in his walk through life. "Familia" was everything to Frank and he lived his life to the fullest.

Frank was preceded in death by his grandson Matthew, and his sister Mary. He is survived by his wife Martha and his five children, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
