Frank Thomas DeSalvo, 71, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on May 19, 2019, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Frank, also known as Tommy, was born on May 19, 1948, to John and Emanuella (Borrelli) DeSalvo in White Plains, NY.
Frank retired at the rank of Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force before pursuing a career teaching in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Frank was a member in the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians. In addition to his love for teaching and electronics, Frank loved to be in the kitchen, and used his cooking skills as an Assistant Scout Master for Troop 2 in the Yucca Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Texas. Frank was also an accomplished woodworker.
In 1979 Frank and Janice were married. In 2016, Frank and Janice returned to live in Overland Park, Kansas for their retirement after living in several states while serving in the military and civil service positions.
Frank is survived by his loving Wife, Janice; Sons, Daniel and Jason; one grandson, Lance; sisters Elaine and Cynthia, and brothers Dominick, John, and Robert as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and an abundance of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be held Saturday May 25, 2019, from 10-11 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Olathe, Kansas. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.
Memorials are suggested to the 151st Street Church of Christ or Habitat for Humanity.
