Frances May Fisher was born September 21, 1939 to Willis A. and Elizabeth Claire (Adams) Fisher of White City, Kansas.
Frances graduated valedictorian of the White City High School class of 1957. After high school, Frances attended Brown Mackie College in Wichita, Kansas. She worked as a secretary for the Tri-County United Methodist Church Parish office and retired as secretary for the Herington Elementary School.
Fran married Charles Otis in February of 1959. The couple settled in Herington, Kansas where they would spend the remainder of their 61 years together, raising their three girls Pam, Lori, and Kristi. Fran loved being a grandma; her grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Henry, and Natalie were the joy of her life.
Fran chose the same verse as her mother and grandmother to find hope and trust through her life:
But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength; they shall soar on wings like eagles; they shall run and not get tired; they shall walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31
Frances is survived by her brother, Charles Fisher of Arlington, TX; daughter Pamela and husband Chris Molz of Olathe, KS; son-in-law Larry Spurgeon and grand daughters Erin and Megan Spurgeon of Rio Rancho, NM. and daughter Kristi and husband Matt Kling of Minneapolis, MN and their children Henry and Natalie.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Willis and Beth Fisher, her husband Charles Otis, and most recently by her beloved daughter Lori Spurgeon.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, April 16th at 10:30am at the Woodbine Methodist Church, Woodbine, Kansas. Luncheon to follow.
