Fortunée "FiFi" Schultz, 88, of Overland Park, passed away on November 29, 2024 at Silverado of Overland Park Memory Care Community.
She was born on December 13, 1935 to Benyamine and Esther Bienveniste, in Alexandria, Egypt. She met her first husband, Yitzach Mizrahi, and moved to Haifa, Israel where they had two sons, Moshe and Benyamine.
Shortly after her husband passed away, in 1979, FiFi and her sons emigrated to the United States and joined her two sisters, Allegra and Clementine, in Miami, Florida. There, FiFi met Robert “Bob” Schultz, a friend of her sisters, on January 6th,1981 and eventually settled down in New Port Richey, Florida. In order to help support her family, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1987 and worked at Tarpon Springs Convalescent Center until she retired in 1997. She was the matriarch of her growing extended family, and was very involved in the lives of her sons and grandchildren.
Fifi was a longtime member of the West Pasco Jewish Community Center in New Port Richey, Florida. In 2019, she moved to Overland Park, Kansas to be closer to her son, Ben and his family. She lived an active, senior life first at Town Village Leawood and then at Silverado Memory Care.
Fifi loved cooking and feeding everyone she could as much as she could. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She notoriously hid Jewish prayers and symbols everywhere she could in the homes and vehicles of her family members, in order to make sure everyone she loved were protected by G-D. These are lovingly known as “Grandma’s Easter Eggs.” She enjoyed sewing and watching her beloved movies on a loop when she wasn’t busy doting on someone nearby.
Surviving are her sons, Moshe Mizrahi, Dr. Benyamine (Carrie) Mizrahi, and grandchildren Mike, Mark, April, Candace, Ashley, Ava, Nathan, Leah and great-grandchildren Katelyn, Killian, Jerrick, Raiden, Tyrion, Dominick, Giselle, and her nephew Sami (Raquel) Benmocha.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Yitzach Mizrahi and Robert Schultz.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
