Floyd Tannahill, 82, of Olathe, Kansas entered into the presence of his Lord on March 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Arkansas City, Kansas and grew up as a farm hand near Newton, Kansas. He graduated from Calvary Bible College where he met his wife.
Floyd loved people, and his spiritual gift of "helps" impacted many as he served and cared for others. This was especially evident as he cared for his wife through her extended illness.
He is preceded in death by his wife Betty of 50 years; his parents, Adin and Rachel (McCreight) Tannahill and his siblings, Howard Tannahill and Samuel Tannahill.
Surviving family include his Children: Nathan (Mendy) Tannahill, David (Kristi) Tannahill, and Brenda (Jim) VandenHull; Grandchildren: Trisha (Joshua) Nordstrom, Tyler (Luisa), Travis (Dakota), Trevor (Emma), Kathryn, Corben (Caylee), Nikki (Ryan) McGuire, and Michaela VandenHull; Greatgrandchildren, Tannah, Tenley, Jordi, and Jett Nordstrom, Zaven, Ayson, and Asya Tannahill, Ridge, Indie and Sutton Tannahill, and Jane Tannahill; Siblings: Margaret (Dean) Rensberger (sister), Janet Tannahill (sister -in-law), Don (Sara) Agee (brother-in-law), Frances Adams (sister-in-law), and Paul VanEgdom (step-brother).
Services will be held at Penwell-Gabel, Olathe, Kansas on Friday, April 5, 2024. Visitation will be at 1pm with the funeral at 2pm. Graveside service to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Overland Park, Kansas.
Floyd suffered from Spinocerebellar Ataxia 6. He was passionate about research and finding a cure. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Floyd Tannahill to support the University of Chicago Medicine for Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 6 (SCA6) research.
