Florentino "Tino" Salinas, 69, of Olathe,Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. He was born in Olton, Texas to Florentino and Constancia (Hernandez) Salinas.
Tino's family grew up in Hart, Texas. Florentino Sr taught his family about the Bible when they were still babies. Tino carried on this tradition. They moved to Nebraska where Tino met Carmen Ruiz. They were married and started their family. Tino loved the Lord and would talk about the Bible to about everyone he met. He worked as a maintenance man for the Union Pacific Railroad and loved his job, working outside even in extreme temperatures. People knew him as a happy man who loved to make them laugh.
Tino is survived by his loving wife, Carmen Salinas, his son Gabriel (Gabe) Salinas, daughters Alicia Salinas and Angela Salinas, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, brother Isaac (Sylvia) Salinas of Harlingen, TX; sister Margarita (Joe) Hernandez of Ravenna, TX; brother Ismael (Graciela) Salinas of Corsicana TX; brother Joe Luis (Diana) Salinas of Shelton, NE; sister Isabel (Robin) Smith of Mustang, OK; sister Rosa (Benjamin) Peralta of Autlan Jalisco, MX; brother Julian (Kyoko) Salinas of Euless TX; sister Paulita (Santiago) Ramirez of Grand Island, NE; brother Eliseo Salinas of Shelton, NE; sister Estella Salinas of del Valle, TX; brother Javier (Margarita) Salinas of Temperance, MI; sister Ester Salinas of Oklahoma City, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eliodoro Salinas.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel, with a visitation and reception following until 2:00 pm.
Tino's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
