FLORENCE A. MERRITT passed away peacefully on May 7, 2012. She was born October 1, 1932 in West Mineral, KS. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Merritt, in 2001. Surviving family include her brother, Jon R. Stack, six children; Roberta (Clifford) Durland, Albert (Leslie) Merritt, Patricia Merritt, Rickey (Allison) Merritt, Toni Merritt, and Sherry (Alvin) Merritt-Burks; eight grandsons, two great-grandsons, and her very dear friend, Loy Hayden.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11 at 11:00am at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob, Olathe, KS where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or to the American Cancer Society.
