Evelyn Suddarth

Evelyn LaVerne Suddarth, age 83, passed away March 6, 2012 in Gardner, KS. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd, Olathe, KS from 12:00pm – 1:30pm. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to VITAS Hospice.
Evelyn was born April 21, 1928 in rural Olathe, KS to Howard and Amelita McConnell. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1945, and married Clarence Suddarth in April of 1946. Evelyn was employed with the Gardner Community Hospital from 1966-1986 as a medical transcriptionist. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, word puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter Elsie (Galen) Nickel of Columbia, MO, her sons Richard (Ann) Suddarth of Wellsville, KS and Roger Suddarth of Gardner, KS, grandson Alan Nickel of Denver, CO, and two great-grandsons, Dakota and Kael Nickel, and her sister Margaret Pirtle of Olathe, KS, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 2006.
