Eva Irene Metz, 94, went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2007. She was born on January 4, 1913, in LaPlata, Maryland to Louis and Modena Moran. In 1939, she married her husband of 68 years, Don Metz, in Washington, D.C.
She lived in the Midwest most of her life. Eva was a Budget Analyst for the FAA for 12 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1967, in response to God's calling, she moved to Olathe, Kansas, to help found MidAmerica Nazarene University. She served as the University's first registrar from 1969 to 1974.
Eva enjoyed traveling. She traveled extensively to Germany, Philippines, Switzerland and Africa as her husband taught at European Nazarene Bible College and African Nazarene Bible College.
Eva was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband Don Metz of Olathe, KS; son Lynn Metz and wife Sharon of Denver, CO; daughter Janet Halvorson and husband Chris of Olathe, KS; six grandchildren, Shari, Cari, Stephen, Scott, Jon, and Amy; nine great grandchildren, Angela, Tessa, Cori, Alli, Janessa, Nick, Anna, Eva, and Imogen; niece Bonnie Stein and husband Frank and nephew Cecil Moran of Annapolis, Maryland; and her Christian family at College Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Modena, her sister Louise, and her brothers Cecil and Claude all of Maryland.
