Rene passed away on Saturday, Mar 31, 2012 at Homestead Health Care. She was born on Oct 1, 1927 in Woodbine, Iowa to Clifford Browne and Adena (Fry) Browne. Rene's family moved to Springfield, MO where they were very active in the Community of Christ Church. Most of her childhood was centered around church commitments and activities. Rene has always been very musically inclined, and she enjoyed singing both and school and at church.
Rene has lived many different places in her life. The towns that she called home are listed in chronological order, as follows: In Missouri, Jefferson City, St. Louis, Rolla, Mountain Grove , In Illinois Quincy, Decatur, Chicago, Peoria, and finally, Madison, Wisconsin. Eventually, Rene and her family settled in Kansas City in 1980.
She is survived by her husband, Al Carpenter of Olathe, her children Jane Marie Carpenter Gardner and husband, Bob, Mary Adena Carpenter Gill and husband Marty, Donna Jean Carpenter Shaw and husband Craig, David Arthur Carpenter and wife Teri, and Julie Kay Carpenter McKibben and husband Keith, grandchildren Sara Gardner-Ewell, Aaron Gill, Lesley Gill, Mark Gardner, Lauren Shaw, Jenna Shaw, Brooke Carpenter and Max McKibben, sister Lois Marie Dummit, and her brother Charles Edward Browne. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Leolla Jones and brother Clifford Loren Browne.
