Eva Bryant Bumpers was born on August 22, 1919, in Mt. Vernon, AR to James and Mary Davis. She attended school at Mt. Vernon, AR and Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, AR.
She was married to Jarrell M. Bryant in 1939. They had one son, Lawrence D. Bryant. Jarrell was killed in action in Germany in 1945.
Eva attended college and there met her husband, Carl N. Bumpers. They were married in August, 1948 in Conway, AR, and moved to Stillwater, OK in Sept. 1948. In Jan. 1950 a daughter, Elizabeth was born. After college, they moved to Enid, OK and in 1952 another daughter, Ramona, was born.
The family moved to Olathe, KS in 1956. She joined the First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Society, the Dorcus Circle, and taught the Sunday School kindergarten class for 14 years. In her later years, she worked for the Olathe School District Food Production for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jarrell M. Bryant, in 1945 and her second husband, Carl N. Bumpers in June 2003, her parents, four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include one son, Lawrence D. Bryant, two daughters, Elizabeth Noland and husband Ray, Ramona Huggins and husband, Bob, six granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, five great-grandsons, one great- great granddaughter, and two great-great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
