Eulala Jane Dade, 95, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on April 25, 1927, in Newton, Kansas to Clarence "Ray" and Clara (Theleman) Smith.
Eulala graduated from Walton (Kansas) High School in 1944. Raised by her grandparents, Eulala grew up on a farm. As a teenager, she pumped gas at her grandfather's station in Walton. While living in Newton, Eulala worked several jobs, one of them as a "Harvey Girl" at the Newton Train Station. In 1963, she moved to Olathe. Eulala had many jobs during her life, which included waitressing, retail and being a rural mail carrier.
While art and drawing were a passion for Eulala, later in life she developed a love for Native American crafts. For over 10 years she operated Southpaw Indian Arts at Old Settlers in Olathe as well as several other crafts shows in the area, creating Native American art replicas. As well as her talent for crafting, one of the many gifts she passed on to her children was her love of gardening and flowers. Eulala was an avid animal lover, during her lifetime she had a variety of cherished pets. Her faith in God guided her throughout her life.
However, Eulala's real love was for her extensive family. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always present at band recitals and ballgames, plus every holiday and family event, her easy smile and loving ways were the highlight for all in attendance. Eulala will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was a second mom to many, always willing to help those in need. She always put others first.
She is survived by her loving children, Rick (Beverly) Trouslot of Walton, Kansas; Linda Linder; Judy Loyd; Kim (Phil) Eastman; Lydi (David) Payne, all of Olathe, Kansas. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Kris Trouslot, Nikki Vannocker, Todd Carpenter, Bryan Carpenter, Shelley Dilley, Joanne Adler, Jennifer Gomez, Benjamin Adler, Jammey Adler, Brycen Loyd, Janette Waters, Daniel Eastman, Matthew Eastman and Brett Payne, plus numerous great- and great-great grandchildren. Eulala was preceded in death by a son, David Adler of Texas, and an infant grandson, Nathan Eastman of Olathe.
