Eugenia Hansen

Eugenia J. Hansen, 96 Olathe, KS passed away on January 22, 2016.

Eugenia was born on February 13, 1919 in Batesville, Arkansas to James and Lula Jones. At the age of 25 she married Clifford A. Hansen, Sr. on October 21, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her husband preceded her in death in March of 1999, as did her son in law Mark in May of 2012, and also one sister and two brothers. Eugenia and Clifford moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1945. They had two children, Cliff and Mignon. Then in 1953 they moved to Hickman Mills. Eugenia helped with first aid at the fire station when people starting coming in after the Ruskin tornado. Then in 1965 she ran for Democratic Committee woman for the 24th ward in Hickman Mills.

She was active in the PTA and an active church worker. She also helped with the YMCA. Eugenia loved keeping up with thins in the world. She loved being a homemaker and raising her family. Eugenia was a very loving, caring and compassionate lady. She was really witty at certain things that would go on. We had lots of laughs through the years.

Surviving are her son Cliff Hansen and wife Shirley of the home and daughter Mignon and grandson Benjamin.

She will be dearly missed, shes at rest now with her Heavenly Father. We loved her so very much. We want to thank CrossroadHospice for all their care and thanks to the doctors and wonderful nurses at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
