EUGENE C. SAGER

Eugene C. "Slick" Sager, 89, Lenexa, Kansas, formerly of Hays, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 10:00am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Olathe, Kansas where the family will receive friends following the service. The family suggests contributions to the church and/or Catholic Community Hospice.

Eugene was born in Wichita, Kansas, on October 24, 1922. He lived throughout Kansas over the course of his career with International Harvester, finally settling in Hays, Kansas. Eugene retired in 1980 after 36 years with International.

He was an Army veteran of WWII, a Mason, and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Eugene was a Methodist, attending the First United Methodist Church in Hays, Kansas, and subsequently Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Olathe, Kansas after moving to Overland Park in 1996.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lena Sager; and his sister, Jerry Taylor. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Margie Sager; his son Grant Sager; his daughter-in-law, Sue Sager; grandchildren, Jennifer (P.J.) Johnson and Julie (Chris) White; and two great grandchildren, Madelyn Johnson and Christian White.
