Eugene "Gene" Bryant, 89, of Chanute, KS passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 17, 1925 in Marion County, GA, the eldest of 10 children. Gene proudly served in the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force during WWII and the Korean conflict. He held degrees in Business, Psychology and Divinity and utilized his early accounting experience with Haskins & Sells and with Delta Airlines in Atlanta to oversee the construction of campuses for the Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City and Dalton College in Albany, GA.
He established a tax and accounting practice on the FL. Gulf Coast In 1976 and retired to S.E. Kansas in 1990 where continued his life-long study of history and philosophy.
He is survived by his wife Marion (Gray) Bryant, his son Gene Bryant, Jr. (Debbie), his daughter Shirley Anita Scott, brother Kenneth (Peg) Bryant, sister Nelle Wells, beloved niece Leanna (Russ) Staines, and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
As he wished, his remains have been cremated and will be buried beside his parents in Pine Park Cemetery, Pine Park, GA at a later date.
