Erma G. Barr, age 97, passed away October 10, 2006 in Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd, Olathe, KS, followed by funeral services on Thursday, October 12 at 10:00 a.m., also in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment, Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS. Erma was born January 4, 1909 in Topeka, KS to Charles and Myrtie Myrick. Charles H. Barr and Erma were married on July 5, 1930. They were happily married for 56 years, and were former residents of both Bilen, New Mexico and San Bernardino, CA, eventually settling in Kansas City in 1949. She was formerly a member of the John Calvin Presbyterian Church of Kansas City, KS, and for the past 15 years was also a member of the Olathe General Baptist Church, where she remained active in the community of the church. She truly enjoyed sewing and baking for her family, and loved a good game of dominoes.
She is survived by her loving family, her grand-daughters Cindy (Bobby) Flowers, Olathe, Susan (Chris) Rhodes, Olathe, Jennifer (Bruce) Brown, Shawnee, and LeAnn (Jeff) Stewart, Tonganoxie, her daughter-in-law, Carol (Phil) Noah, and eleven great-grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Barr, in 1986,her daughter, Thieda Meffert in 2000, and her son Terry Barr, in 1969.
