Elton Craig, 82, passed away June 19, 2024.
Elton was born May 16, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Estes and Zelda Mae Craig. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, graduated from Turner High High School and Emporia State College. He served in the United States Army in Germany and North Vietnam. He was so pleased to be able to go on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in April 2023.
On August 30 of 1969, Elton married Barbara Swanson at Salem Lutheran Church in Axtell, Kansas.
Elton worked in insurance his whole career for Hartford Insurance, Trinity Insurance, Northwestern National Insurance and Garry & Associates. He taught insurance licensing classes for many years. He was involved in Sunrise Kiwanis - Olathe, Bible Study Fellowship as a participant then a leader and volunteered for Interfaith Hospitality Network. He was dedicated to his church activities over the years and was involved in many aspects of that.
Serving his Lord and others in Jesus name with love and without judgement was his daily walk.
Elton was preceded in death by his parents Estes and Zelda Mae Craig.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara, three daughters Erin (Derek) Vaughn, Robyn Craig and Lindsey Craig, grandchildren Willow, Annika and Wyatt, brother Don (Alice) Craig and sister Linda (George) Acton, many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
