Elsbeth Ables, 84, of Olathe, passed away on March 12, 2016. She was born on May 4, 1931 to Georg and Julianna (Stemmler) Brand in Lorrach, Germany.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 18th, at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 Blackbob Road, Olathe, KS. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
Elsbeth immigrated to the United States in 1959 and achieved US citizenship. She was a homemaker and a retail saleswomen who retired from the Jones Store. A member of Unity Church of Overland Park where she taught bible school. She was a cancer survivor who displayed faith, compassion and inner strength throughout her life.
Elsbeth is survived by Luther her loving husband of 40 years; children Ernst (Vici) Matt and Aida (Mark) Nelson and stepchildren Pat (Sue) Ables, Annette ( Jasen) Mangrum . She has 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great- Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Georg, Ernst, Leo, and Heinz.
