Overland Park

Elmiran "Al" Boehr, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Born on October 16, 1942, in Dearborn MI, to Elmer and Esther (Steingard) Boehr. The family later moved back to the family farm near Henderson NE when Al was 8 years old.

Al was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his brother-in-law, Ron Ott. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Boehr; his sister, Carol Ott; and brother, Ron Boehr. He will be dearly missed by his stepchildren, grandchildren, and many cherished friends.

Later Al moved to Kansas City with his first wife Jo. He began a career at UMB Bank as a Computer Programmer. Al eventually left the bank and began a long and successful career in the insurance industry. His hard work and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Al lived life with enthusiasm. He was an avid traveler, passionate golfer, and a lifelong reader with a curious mind.

One of Al's greatest joys was playing and coaching softball and baseball. He was a longtime Royals season ticket holder. Known as the life of every party, Al had an infectious energy and a natural ability to entertain everyone with his wit and humor—so much so that he was always on the guest list for every gathering.

Al’s presence lit up every room he entered, and his genuine spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will not be forgotten.

A celebration of Al’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice in Al’s memory.

He lived fully, loved deeply, and will be missed beyond measure.
