Elmer led a very colorful life. He loved to share his life experiences and stories often. Without the ability to fact check or confirm them, we will assume they are all true (we love you, Dad).
Elmer was born September 6th, 1932 in Koylton, Michigan to Elmer Riley Haggadone and Avis Margaret Wiggins. He graduated from Clarkston High School in Michigan at the age of 16. Early in life, Elmer married Mary Ann Aruda on January 17, 1953 and they had four sons together, Elmer John, Jimmi and Clay. He married a second time. His third marriage was to Phyllis Winder. Together, Elmer and Phyllis and two children, Wondra and Cash.
Elmer worked many jobs in his lifetime, and as many at three jobs at a time were necessary. He did everything from working as a pizza man to coroner's assistant to construction to his service in the United States Navy. He finally settled in to a plant supervisory position for a major automobile manufacturer. He retired three times before he finally called it quits. He loved working with tools, and also loved working with his hands. He loved the two pocket protectors that were his constant companions stuffed with pens and stubs of over-used #2 pencils. He loved entertaining people by telling them jokes, playing his guitar and singing. He would do anything for a friend or stranger to lend them a hand. Elmer lived in a lot of different places in his colorful life, from his birthplace in Michigan, to Rhode Island, Utah, California, Kansas and Arkansas.
Elmer was preceded in death by heir wonderful wife, Phyllis, his parents, Elmer and Avis, sisters Ellie and Veldora and brother Lavern. He is survived by his children Moe (Elmer), John, Jimmi, Clay, Wondra, Cash and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
