Elizabeth "Liz" McCullough Rhoads, 67, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.
Liz was born September 6, 1948 in Girard, KS to Hugh and Mirza McCullough. She graduated from Arma High School in 1966, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Pittsburg State University.
She began her career with AT & T Long Lines in 1975, where she met her husband, Richard Rhoads, and they married on July 2, 1977. Two beautiful daughters were born to this union, Elizabeth Margaret, and Mary Kathleen. Liz continued her career with Sprint, and retired in 2001.
Liz enjoyed reading and knitting throughout her lifetime, but her greatest joy was her family, most especially her grandsons. She was surrounded by many dear pets during her lifetime, and held a great love of animals.
Liz loved sports and enjoyed playing softball. She was an avid fan of the Royals and the Chiefs.
Surviving are her husband, Richard, and daughters, Beth (Sean) and Katie, and her brother Kirby ( Dan) McCullough, grandsons Owen and Ben, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Hugh and Steve McCullough.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 1:00pm at the Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, Olathe, KS. Memorials are suggested to Great Plains SPCA, 5428 Antioch Drive, Merriam, Kansas, 66202
